What’s the “entourage effect” anyway

The cannabis "entourage effect" refers to the idea that the various compounds found in the cannabis plant work together synergistically to produce a more potent and varied effect than any one of the individual compounds could achieve alone.

Cannabis contains hundreds of compounds, including cannabinoids such as THC and CBD, terpenes, flavonoids, and other phytochemicals. Each of these compounds can interact with the body in different ways, producing a range of effects that can vary depending on the specific combination of compounds present.

Research suggests that the entourage effect may be responsible for many of the therapeutic benefits of cannabis, such as pain relief, anti-inflammatory effects, and the reduction of anxiety and depression. For example, some studies have found that THC and CBD together may be more effective at reducing pain than either compound alone.

Understanding the entourage effect is important for both researchers and consumers of cannabis, as it suggests that the whole plant may be more effective than isolated compounds or synthetic versions of cannabinoids. This could lead to the development of more effective cannabis-based medicines and treatments for a variety of conditions.

When educating about cannabis we focus on the chemical makeup of the plant, what cannanbinoids & terpenes are dominate and what therapeutic effects do they exert, that way we can generalize what possible therapeutic effects the product will exert in the human body!!
